Police in Saskatoon were kept busy over the weekend responding to three separate stabbings around the city.
The first case, which happened at around 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, saw officers called to a motel on Idylwyld Drive after a man reported that he was assaulted by a man wielding a machete.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man who is now charged with assault causing bodily harm. The victim, a 32-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and police said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
The second stabbing happened Sunday afternoon. Police were called to hospital where a woman was seeking medical attention for “several stab wounds.”
Police said officers determined that she was stabbed at an apartment on Avenue R South in the city’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.
The third case happened shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday, when officers were called to the 1300 block of Eighth Street East where a 32-year-old woman was suffering from a stab wound.
“Through further investigation, police learned the victim had reportedly been confined to a motel room and stabbed. She was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries,” the Saskatoon Police Service explained in a statement.
“The Saskatoon Police Serious Assault Unit is investigating.”
