Two people are facing charges after allegedly ramming an RCMP vehicle with a stolen truck – twice – in Hudson Bay last week.
According to the RCMP, officers tracked down a stolen truck to a home on Albert Street in Hudson Bay on Thursday. A police vehicle approached the truck, which was parked in a back yard, but the RCMP said the driver started the truck and rammed the front passenger side of the police vehicle, disabling it.

“The suspect vehicle then struck the police vehicle again,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“The occupants refused to exit the vehicle and continued to try to flee in it. Officers broke one of the vehicle’s windows to gain entrance to the car. The driver continued efforts to flee. Officers deployed a conducted energy device and arrested him. They also arrested the passenger.”
The officers were not injured during the altercation, the RCMP noted.
Police said one of the truck’s occupants, a 22-year-old man from Tisdale, is now facing charges of assaulting police officers with a weapon, failing to stop for a peace officer, dangerous driving, resisting arrest, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Another occupant, a 30-year-old Tisdale woman, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and obstructing a peace officer.
The truck was reported stolen in Nipawin on November 2, the RCMP said, and it was found to contain a number of items believed to be stolen.
“Officers are working to see if they’ve been reported as stolen from the Hudson Bay and surrounding detachment areas,” the RCMP said.
“If you’ve had anything stolen recently and have not yet reported it to police, please contact your local RCMP detachment by dialling 310-RCMP.”
