Police have charged two people and were searching for two more suspects in the Highway 123 area overnight, with officers in ground and air searches battling dense, thick bush with swampland and mossy and boggy terrain.
The search continued Friday afternoon. Police have not identified the two suspects.
Police said on Friday they arrested two people in the Tobin Lake area, around 175 km northeast of Prince Albert, after they were spotted by the Saskatoon Police Services plane running along the bank of the Saskatchewan River.
Police said the pair were then arrested by RCMP officers on the ground, and an 18-year-old woman from La Ronge and a 33-year-old man from Prince Albert are facing a number of charges including aggravated assault, and armed robbery.
The woman was treated by paramedics for minor injuries as a result of the collision between a Dodge Ram and a heavy equipment vehicle around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, RCMP added. The pair are scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday.
Initially, RCMP said the suspects were driving a 2020 white Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab with green toolbox.
