It’s time to grab a towel and bathing suit and hit the outdoor pools in Saskatoon.
Riversdale welcomes the season’s first swimmers on Wednesday as the first of the city’s four outdoor pools to opens for the season.
Lathey Pool opens to the public on Friday, while Mayfair Pool is set to open on Wednesday, June 12 and George Ward Pool kicks off its season on Tuesday, June 18
A swim this summer will cost $9.35 for adults and $5.60 for youths ages six to 18. Children under six can swim for free when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

But while many swimmers will be getting excited for the start of the outdoor season, the weather has been cooler this week with a risk of funnel clouds reported in Saskatoon on Tuesday. According to the city, swimmers will be asked to exit the water immediately if thunder or lightning occurs.
The city will also close its pools when the daytime temperature dips below 15 C, which is right around the expected high for Saskatoon on Wednesday.
