It’s the answer to the question Saskatchewan has been asking for the last 24 hours: “Who will be the new host on News Talk Radio?”
Evan Bray is the new voice of Saskatchewan, and The Evan Bray Show starts Nov. 27.
Many know him as the former chief of the Regina Police Service. But Bray has turned in his badge and changed frequencies from police scanner to AM radio.
Bray’s return to his broadcast roots follows a three-decade-long policing career, during which he held the position of chief for the last seven years.
“This is what I left my policing career to do. I am so looking forward to talking with the people of Saskatchewan every day,” said Bray.

Saskatchewan listeners can tune in weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on 980 CJME and 650 CKOM to hear his opinion, perspective and the latest information about the stories that matter most to them.
Bray was born and raised on the family farm near Abernethy in southeast Saskatchewan. He has a deep appreciation for his rural roots and a strong love for the province.
He is both excited and humbled about his new show.
“During harvest, we often start the day in the coffee shop as we wait to get in the field,” Bray said. “This show will be a lot like the conversations taking place in coffee shops across Saskatchewan.”
The Evan Bray Show will feature a daily lineup of intriguing guests with diverse viewpoints, plus familiar favourites like Saskatchewan’s Smartest Radio Listener.
As police chief, Bray worked closely with governments, leaders and grassroots community organizations to understand the challenges people in Saskatchewan face.
He led crowd control and crisis negotiation teams in his policing career — skills that can be useful during heated debates on his ground-breaking show.
Bray steps into the time slot occupied for the last 25 years by John Gormley, who played a key role in identifying his successor, and has helped prepare Bray for the launch.
“I’ve gotten to know Evan Bray well over the years, professionally and personally, and I’m thrilled to pass the baton to him. I know that Evan is going to quickly become someone people will tune in to hear his opinions and perspectives,” Gormley said.
Bray lives in Regina with his wife, Jodie, and has two grown children, Cy and Ella, and one grandchild.
