A 29-year-old man is facing charges after what could have just been mischief turned more serious on Saturday.
A Bike Unit officer with Saskatoon police was riding in the City Park neighbourhood when he said he smelled fresh paint.
The officer saw a graffiti artist tagging a business wall as another officer arrived.
They tried to arrest the man before he allegedly pulled out a knife and brandished it at the officers.
The officer told the man to drop the knife, but he didn’t. So, one of the officers used a taser.
The man was taken to hospital. While on the way there, police said he spat on a paramedic.
The suspect is facing charges of mischief, assaulting a police officer, common assault, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon dangerous to the public
