Two people have been charged after Saskatoon police say a 21-year-old man was assaulted and threatened.
The Saskatoon Police Service said officers responded Thursday at about 2:15 p.m., to the 2900 block of Preston Avenue South for a report of an assault.
There, they found a man who had suffered minor injuries in a beating. He also told police a male suspect had pointed a gun at the victim before taking off in a GMC truck.
At about 4 p.m., the suspect was seen driving the truck in the 1500 block of Rayner Avenue. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the male driver as well as his female passenger.
Officers conducted a search and found two stolen guns in the truck and a box of ammunition in the woman’s purse.
A 35-year-old man from Saskatoon is facing charges of assault, pointing a firearm and 14 other gun charges. As well, it was determined he was wanted on outstanding warrants from the RCMP.
The 41-year-old woman, who also hails from Saskatoon, is facing gun-related charges.
