RCMP are looking for two suspects after a scary incident at a Holbein business Tuesday morning.
Holbein is a hamlet about 30 kilometers west of Prince Albert. The incident happened just after 8 a.m. when a pair pulled up to the Tempo gas station to fill up.
The co-owner of the station, Trent Riel, got suspicious when the driver started walking back to the truck without paying for his gas.
“So I just followed him out and he quickly jumped in the vehicle and started it. So I reached in the drivers window to try to shut off the key and then he starts pulling away and he dragged me,” said Riel.
The driver then spun the vehicle to throw him off the truck, and Riel fell and got run over, suffering a broken leg.
He is in hospital recovering. He said like many people in the area, he is getting frustrated that there seems to be more and more crime, but realizes he could have handled things differently.
“It was probably not the right decision at the time, but you get some outrage because it is a recurring thing,” Riel said.
Meanwhile, police have identified the pair in the truck and are currently searching for them. Saskatchewan Crimestoppers released pictures of the suspects.
The truck they were driving is stolen and described as a black Ford Harley Davidson edition F-350. RCMP believe the two are travelling west. If you have any information about the two suspects or see the truck, you are asked to call the Shellbrook RCMP or Crimestoppers.
