RCMP have released an official account of a deadly collision that happened Wednesday on Highway 7.
Police reported Thursday morning that a 17-year-old boy who was the passenger in a pickup truck was killed in a collision also involving a semi truck and another vehicle at the west exit of the community of Vanscoy, about 20 minutes southwest of Saskatoon.
A 17-year-old girl was also taken to hospital in Saskatoon with undetermined injuries. Police said she was the driver of the pickup truck.
Police are still investigating the cause of the collision and are working to determine if there will be any charges. Neither road conditions nor alcohol were believed to be factors.
Highway sees second collision in as many days
A second collision on Highway 7 near Vanscoy was reported Thursday morning.
That crash involved a pickup truck and a car just west of the community.
Callers and texters to 306-306 told 650 CKOM they saw vehicles in the ditch as emergency workers arrived at the scene around 7:30 a.m.
Police said there were non-life threatening injuries. Traffic restrictions in the area of that crash were lifted as of about 9 a.m. Thursday.
