A man has died after a collision on Highway 16.
Saskatchewan RCMP first reported the crash between a car and a gravel truck Monday night, after Highway 16 had to be shut down for several hours near the community of Lashburn.
Police issued an update Tuesday confirming the 30-year-old man who was driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene. He was reportedly the only person in the car at the time.
Both the car and the gravel truck were travelling west on Highway 16 at the time of the crash, according to RCMP.
The incident remains under investigation by both RCMP and the coroner’s office.
Paramedics treated the driver of the gravel truck at the scene for minor injuries.
Lashburn is located off Highway 16. about halfway between Maidstone and Lloydminster.
