November 11 is Remembrance Day, originally called Armistice Day. The date marks the end of hostilities during the First World War, as well as honouring all those who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace.

Saskatoon will once again be hosting a service at Sasktel Centre, where doors open: at 8:45 a.m. before the service starts at 10 a.m. before a wreath laying ceremony.
Saskatoon Transit will have free buses leaving from:
Downtown special events stop at 23rd Street and 2nd Avenue: Every 20 minutes starting at 9 a.m., with the final bus leaving by 10:20 a.m.
Market Mall transit terminal: 9:45 a.m.
Centre Mall transit terminal: 9:45 a.m.
Return trips from SaskTel Centre will begin immediately after the ceremony.
What’s open and closed in Saskatoon on Remembrance Day 2024
City Hall: Closed.
Remai Modern: Closed.
Saskatoon Public Library: All locations will be closed.
Saskatoon Transit: Fixed-route transit will run holiday service hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (normal fares apply). OnDemand service will not be available.
Access Transit: Holiday service hours from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Trips must be booked in advance.
Transit Customer Service Centre: Closed to walk-in customers, but phone lines (306-975-3100) will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Pay Parking: Payment is not required but all other parking requirements remain in effect, including parking time limits.
Municipal Impound Lot: Closed.
Waste collection: Garbage, recycling, and organics collections as scheduled.
Material Recovery Centre and Landfill: Open 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Compost Depot: Closed for the season.
Woodlawn Cemetery: Office closed Cemetery grounds are open to the public 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo: Zoo, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Forestry Farm Park, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cosmo Civic Centre: Closed
Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre: Closed for facility upgrade.
Lakewood Civic Centre: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Lawson Civic Centre: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saskatoon Field House: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Shaw Centre: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Terry Fox Track: Closed
ACT & Cosmo Arenas: Parent and Tot Skating, 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
