A 39-year-old man from Regina has been charged after an investigation into online luring.
Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit charged the man after starting the investigation last month where ICE searched a home in the city and seized electronic devices found there.
ICE said in a news release the man was charged on Sept. 12 with communicating with a person believed by the accused to be under 18 years for the purpose of facilitating an offence, and making sexually explicit material available to a person believed by the accused to be under 16 the purpose of facilitating an offence.
The man first appeared in court on Sept. 13 and was released on numerous conditions, ICE said. He is next scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Oct 2.
ICE investigates crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the internet, and is comprised of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service.
