A 44-year-old man is dead after a semi-truck caught on fire last week on Circle Drive North near Attridge Drive.
According to Saskatoon Police, they received a call on Friday at 2:45 p.m. about a semi being flipped over and on fire.
The driver of the truck was trapped inside, causing multiple people nearby who had witnessed the crash to rush to try and get the man out of the semi while emergency crews rushed to the scene.
Crews from the Saskatoon Fire Department eventually arrived and pulled the man out of the semi and rushed him to the hospital.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police notified the next of kin and said they would not release the man’s name.
The investigation into the crash continues with support from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
