Police in Saskatoon are searching for a person of interest almost a month after an alleged assault left a woman with a knife wound on her face.
According to police, officers were called Feb. 9 to City Hospital, where they spoke with the injured 35-year-old woman.
“Continued investigation found that the assault occurred in the 200 block of Third Avenue South at around 1:30 p.m. following an altercation with a man unknown to the victim,” police said in a statement.

Police said the Serious Assault Unit has identified a person of interest in the case, but didn’t say if the man is considered a suspect.
At the time of the incident, police said the man was seen wearing a dark hat, a dark flannel jacket and jeans.
Anyone who can help identify or locate the man was asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
