After a few days of freezing drizzle, many of Saskatoon’s streets are starting to resemble skating rinks.
While drivers aren’t having a great time, some young Saskatoon residents are making the best of the situation by lacing up their skates and hitting the streets for some fun.

City working on residential roads
The City of Saskatoon said its crews have been working non-stop since Sunday to apply salt to high-priority streets like Circle Drive and the city’s bridges.
Workers have also been applying salt and sand on city-maintained sidewalks and bridge walkways to help pedestrians and cyclists stay upright.
On Tuesday, crews are to begin working on more residential streets and intersections, the city said in a statement.
“Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are advised to use caution,” the city’s statement noted.
“If driving, adjust to the road conditions, leave extra room in front of you and watch for blue and yellow flashing lights on road maintenance equipment.”
