The Battlefords RCMP is charging a 29-year-old man with manslaughter after another man died from injuries sustained during an altercation.
On Thursday, police received a report of an assault at a home in the village of Meota.
It’s reported that the accused and the other man, whom the RCMP have confirmed are related, got into an altercation that left the victim suffering from serious injuries. He died two days later in hospital.
The accused was originally charged with aggravated assault after the altercation, but the charge has since been upgraded to manslaughter.
He’s scheduled to appear in a North Battleford courtroom on Tuesday.
