Police have released a sketch of the man who allegedly tried to abduct a young girl in Warman last month.
According to the RCMP, a girl was near a community centre when she was approached by a man in a pickup truck on Jan. 11. The man tried to convince her to get into his truck, police said, but she was able to run away safely and report the incident.
Although the girl was unhurt, the case left many in the community worried about the safety of children.
On Wednesday, police released a composite sketch of the suspect.
According to the RCMP, the suspect was described as a tall Caucasian man in his 20s, clean-shaven, with dirty blonde or brown hair. He also has a piercing in his left ear, police said, and a tattoo on his left arm, possibly on the inner bicep.
The suspect’s truck was described as a black, two-door GMC pickup from the early 2000s, with matte black bumpers, black wheels with white writing on them, and silver rims.
The truck also has “a grapefruit-sized dent” in the rear bumper on the passenger side, the RCMP noted, and the door handle on the driver’s side is black while the passenger-side handle is silver.
Anyone who recognizes the description or has information on the attempted abduction was asked to contact the Warman RCMP or their local police service.
