When assessing the Chicago Blackhawks scandal, let us remember that managing, coaching and playing in the NHL is a privilege.
No man or woman has a right to make millions in professional sports.
And if you put wins and Stanley Cups in front of sexual assault accusations, you should lose that privilege.
Sure, there is room for second chances. However, you need to lose something to earn a second chance. Joel Quenneville should not have been behind the bench for the Florida Panthers last night nor should he going forward no matter how many wins he’s piled up in his career,
Let’s remember what Mike Babcock did in comparison to Joel Quenneville to have Babcock pushed out of the league. He criticized a star player in a way for which Babcock says he immediately apologized.
Quenneville kept a video coach around his team after being told the video coach was accused of sexual misconduct with a player.
I’m done debating whether or not Joel Quenneville should be an NHL coach. He shouldn’t be. He’s made his millions. He’s won his Cups. And now, he should lose the privilege of leading men.
