A Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) stop on Highway 7 Sunday has resulted in more than 20 charges against a 39-year-old man.
Just before 7 p.m. a Saskatoon police officer was travelling near McGee when his automatic plate reader indicated that the licence plate of a white Mazda 3 was stolen.
The officer stopped the vehicle and found the driver had several outstanding warrants, including a Canada-wide warrant.
A semi-automatic non-restricted rifle and ammunition were found in the trunk of the car.
Further investigation uncovered the car had been stolen from North Vancouver, B.C., and the licence plate on the car had been stolen from Prince Albert.
The charges include possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and possession of stolen identity documents.
