SaskPower says the power outages shouldn’t be as long or widespread in south Regina now that the Albert Park substation is back in operation.
It’s been offline undergoing a $10-million upgrade since February 23. The substation has been partially energized, and will be back up to full capacity in the next 10 to 14 days.
The upgrades should particularly help the Harbour Landing, Albert Park, Lakeview and Cathedral areas.
SaskPower says they will spend $33 million on planned maintenance and system upgrades in the Regina area this year.
