A number of police officers filled a street in Regina’s Uplands neighbourhood Thursday night after a woman reported that a man with a gun had threatened her and her boyfriend.
Police took precautions while tracking down the 31-year-old man. The report was made by a 31-year-old woman who had previously been in a relationship with him.
Officers found the man in a home on the 2100 block of 12th Avenue North and set up a perimeter around the home. Police then learned that no one had actually seen the man with a gun, but he was believed to have access to guns.
The suspect and a 63-year-old woman came out of the home which was then searched. Officers didn’t find a gun.
As the investigation continued, police learned that the alleged threats had been made in January.
As a result of the investigation, 31-year-old Gregory Allan Zelinski was charged with one count of uttering threats.
