At least one dad in Saskatchewan is getting the message about drunk driving.
Saskatoon police say a man called in his 17-year-old son, who was apparently drunk and had taken the truck without permission.
The call came in around 11 p.m. Saturday. Fifteen minutes later, the truck was found crashed into a tree in the 100 block of Smallwood Crescent in the Confederation neighbourhood.
The boy was not hurt.
He’s now charged with impaired driving over .08, possession of stolen property as well as possession of restricted narcotics.
Around the same time, Saskatoon police were called to a crash Taylor Street and McEown Avenue.
A driver heading north allegedly didn’t stop at a stop sign, and t-boned a car heading west.
A 39-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with impaired driving over .08, and will appear in court next month.
The 24-year-old woman driving the westbound car was shaken up, and checked by Md Ambulance. She didn’t require further medical care.
