The festive season has begun and with it, Christmas parties.
Along with tradition options like cabs, public transit or a designated driver other services are available to try.
Operation Red Nose, a volunteer-based drive home service, takes people and their cars to their front doors. The free service relies on donations. Volunteers started the annual run in Saskatoon on Friday. It also runs in Regina, Prince Albert, The Battlefords and Yorkton.
Safe Ride Designated Drivers Service (formerly known as Zero8) and Mobile app First Choice offers to drive people and their vehicle homes for a fee and operates in Saskatoon and Regina.
Another app, Driverseat, has a similar drive home service but also offers chauffeurs.
Saskatoon’s Birmingham’s Circle Drive location offers customers a year-round shuttle service on Friday and Saturday nights.
If you plan on taking a cab its recommended you book a ride ahead of time to have one there right when you’re ready to go home.
The latest bus routes run in Saskatoon is 12:40 a.m. on select routes. However, on New Year’s Eve, there are free rides from 8:00 p.m. until 2:45 a.m.
