Two people from northwestern Saskatchewan were injured during the shooting rampage in Las Vegas Sunday night.
Several residents told 650 CKOM a large group of friends and family from Leoville and Spiritwood travelled to the city to take in the Route 91 Harvest music festival over the weekend.
When a gunman opened fire from the nearby Mandalay Hotel and Casino, Leoville’s Carrie-Lynn Denis was shot in the foot.
Kim Ackerson, regional manager for Innovation Credit Union, said Denis was “okay” but she didn’t have any further information.
Ryan Sarrazin, formerly of Spiritwood but currently of Camrose, Alta., was also hit. He was reportedly in critical condition Monday afternoon, with family members making their way to Las Vegas to be by his side.
Friends and supporters started a gofundme page to help Sarrazin’s family cover expenses.
