A 39-year-old man is in stable condition after a bear attack north of Prince Albert this week.
In a news release, Parkland Ambulance said paramedics responded to a bear attack five kilometres east of Weirdale just after 7:30 p.m. Monday.
A 39-year-old man reportedly had serious injuries and was taken to Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert for further treatment.
The man has since been transferred to Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital, where he remains in good and stable condition.
Ryan Reid, who identified himself as the victim’s cousin on 650 CKOM’s Facebook page, provided details in the comment section of the story Thursday.
“Wasn’t any regular bear attack, no way. This thing charged up to where his tree stand was and pulled him out from 14 feet up. Totally unprovoked,” Reid wrote.
Weirdale is located around 48 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert.
