Most of us know the name Anne Frank. Her diary offered the world a powerful, personal lens into the Holocaust — the fears, hopes and heartbreak of a young Jewish girl hiding from the Nazis in Amsterdam.
But Anne Frank’s story ended in tragedy. In 1945, just weeks before Bergen-Belsen concentration camp was liberated, Anne died there.
In another part of that same camp, a girl named Klara Belkin was also imprisoned. Klara survived and today lives in Saskatoon, Sask.
Now, 80 years after the liberation of Bergen-Belsen, we are sharing Klara’s remarkable journey. A story of survival, resilience and reflection in a powerful new radio series.
