A Regina woman is facing a lengthy list of traffic and drug charges after allegedly running from a traffic stop, hitting three other vehicles in the process.
According to the Regina Police Service, officers tried to pull over the woman on Friday afternoon at the intersection of Second Avenue and Elphinstone Street for an expired registration.

“While emergency lights were activated, the driver evaded police at a high rate of speed. Officers lost sight of the vehicle and no pursuit was attempted.” the police service explained in a statement.
“A short time later, officers discovered the same vehicle was involved in a hit and run in the 1200 block of Elphinstone Street. Officers then received a second report of the same vehicle colliding with two other vehicles in the area of 6th Avenue and Elphinstone Street, which had fled the scene.”
The vehicle involved in the hit and run incidents was found abandoned in an alley a short time later, police said, and “items consistent with drug trafficking” were found inside.
The driver was located and arrested a short distance away.
Police said the 43-year-old woman is now facing charges including possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, dangerous driving, flight from police, driving an unregistered vehicle, use of license plates on the wrong vehicle and failing to stop after an accident.
She made her first court appearance on Monday morning in Regina.
