“Kamsack RCMP responded, making patrols until they located the suspect vehicle,” the Mounties explained in a statement.
“As a result of further investigation, officers arrested two adult males and an adult female at the scene without incident.”
Inside the vehicle, the RCMP said officers found roughly 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, along with cash and cell phones.
A 29-year-old man from Pelly, Sask. and a 33-year-old woman from Swan River, Man., were both charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000.
The third person arrested, a 27-year-old Lloydminster man, is also facing a charge of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Staff sergeant Geoff Stringfellow, commander of the RCMP’s Kamsack detachment, said the seizure will keep dangerous drugs off of the streets.
“Intercepting this volume of harmful drugs before they enter in our communities is a rewarding outcome for our officers, who work tirelessly on keeping our province safe,” Stringfellow said in a statement.
