The death of a three-month-old infant back in 2023 has led Regina Police to arrest and charge a 23-year-old woman.
Police said it responded to a call in the early morning of Aug. 16, 2023, around 6:00 am, of a child not breathing.
This happened in a home on the 1900 block of Halifax Street.
When police arrived, they found a three-month-old lying on the floor unresponsive.
First aid was administered until EMS arrived, but the infant died at the scene a short time later.

The Regina Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit, the Regina Children’s Justice Centre and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service would launch an investigation following the death.
Following an extensive investigation, police charged and arrested a 23-year-old woman on Jan. 11, 2025, with manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.
She’ll make her first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on January 13.
