The Saskatchewan Roughriders have brought back a couple of players from 2024 and added a new kicker.
The CFL club announced offensive lineman Nick Jones, wide receiver D’Sean Mimbs and kicker Ben Hadley to a contract.
Jones played six games for the Riders this season due to multiple injuries to the group.
Mimbs was with the Riders for training camp but returned to the University of Regina to play with the Rams.
Jones, a Byhalia, Miss. product, signed with the team in July as the Green and White battles injuries along the offensive line.
Collegiately, Jones played 32 collegiate career games over three seasons (2021-2023) as a left tackle and left guard with the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Prior to Mississippi State, Jones attended East Mississippi Community College (2019), appearing in 10 games.
Mimbs was selected by the Riders in the sixth round (50th overall) of the 2024 CFL Draft. The Regina product has spent the last four seasons at the U of R, recording 130 receptions for 1,717 yards and ten touchdowns. In 2024, he led the Rams in both receptions (45) and receiving yards (512) for the second consecutive season, helping the team go all the way to the Mitchell Bowl.
Mimbs is the son of former CFLer and Riders running back Robert Mimbs.
Hadley (6’2-190) is coming off a great senior campaign at St. Francis Xavier University that saw him named a U Sports First Team All-Canadian for the second consecutive season. The Halifax, N.S. product made 25 of 29 field goals he attempted, including a career-long 55-yarder, and went 21 of 21 on PATs scoring a total of 96 points for the X-Men.
