SaskPower has filed an appeal related to the death of two workers in Weyburn.
Last month we told you that the crown corporation was fined $840,000 for a workplace incident in October 2020, that killed two men, a 51-year-old, and a 40-year-old.
SaskPower was found guilty on three charges related to workplace safety violations due to the incident.

In an email to 980 CJME, SaskPower media relations confirmed it filed the appeal, but has not given reasons as to why.
“This does not diminish the great loss of Scott Bill and Cole Crooks, who were valued members of our SaskPower family. Their loss continues to be felt by us all, and our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of these two employees,” it said.
“The safety of our employees, contractors, and the public is SaskPower’s highest priority and we strive to continuously improve safety.”
SaskPower said it cannot comment further as the matter is currently before the courts.
