Police say that anyone receiving such a call should block the number and ignore any text. Do not click any link or make any payments to the caller or any website. Stars Lottery will never require payments of any kind, they added.
The 2024 lottery draw is complete and a full list of winners is available at the STARS Lottery website.
All proceeds from the lottery go toward supporting the helicopter air ambulance service.
The lottery is the organization’s biggest annual fundraiser, and typically generates around a third of the funding needed to allow the service to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Anyone who thinks they are a victim of any fraud or scam, is asked to call Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300. Any text messages or phone calls can also be reported to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
