A man from the Estehazy area was killed on Wednesday afternoon when the tractor he was driving collided with a train.
According to the RCMP, the collision happened north of Gerald, located east of Regina near the Manitoba border.

“The collision involved a tractor and a train; the driver of the tractor, an adult male from the Esterhazy area, died as a result,” the Saskatchewan RCMP explained in a statement.
“Several train cars derailed (we don’t have specific numbers available); however, no spills have been reported to RCMP except for dried/material goods.”
The Mounties said Range Road 1322 will remain closed on Thursday morning as the RCMP investigates the collision. The public was asked to avoid the area.
The name of the deceased man was not released.
