Man wanted: Robberies in Melfort, Wadena, Foam Lake, Yorkton

On Sunday, Yorkton RCMP responded to a robbery around 2 a.m. at a business on Smith Street.

Police said a “male entered the business, threatened an employee with a firearm, then stole cash, cigarettes and the keys to the employee’s vehicle. He then fled in that vehicle.”

RCMP are looking for 34-year-old Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais from Fishing Lake First Nation in connection with a total of four incidents.

According to police, no physical injuries were reported from the Sept. 22 incident.

Desjarlais is described as about 5-foot-7 and 130 lbs with brown eyes, short brown hair, and a short beard. He was last seen wearing a light brown hoodie and a fanny pack. He has tattoos of the words “public” and “enemy” with flames on his hands, and “Bonnie and Clyde” tattooed on the right side of his neck.

Police say Desjarlais, should not be approached.

Melfort

An armed robbery at a rural residence in the RM of Spalding had Melfort RCMP called around 10:35 a.m. on Sept. 16.

According to RCMP “two males entered the residence with firearms and wearing masks and pointed the firearms at two people inside the residence. The adult males stole two firearms and electronics from the residence before leaving the area in a vehicle.”

• Police located the vehicle on Fishing Lake First Nation.
• Officers arrested a 23-year-old man from Spalding during a traffic stop. Seized three firearms, two were stolen.

Melfort RCMP are looking for Desjarlais about the investigation.

Wadena

Wadena RCMP are looking for a man they have charged with armed robbery after an incident in the town on Sunday. Sept. 8.

Police said in a news release on Sept. 9. that they received a call around 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 8 reporting an armed robbery at a business. Police said a man approached an employee with what appeared to be a firearm and stole merchandise. The man left, and no one was injured.

Then, around 1:20 a.m., Wadena RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter at a business in Foam Lake, about 46 km from Wadena.

Police said a man threw an unknown object at the business’s glass door, shattering it and setting off the security alarm. The man then entered the business with what appeared to be a firearm, police said, stole merchandise, and left in a black Jeep Patriot with Saskatchewan plate 621 NNC.

Desjarlais is charged with robbery with a weapon, break and enter and using an imitation firearm in an offence and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
