Who am I voting for in the civic election?
The election will see residents voting for Saskatoon’s next mayor, 10 city councillors and 17 school board trustees for the next four years.
When is the civic election?
Who can register:
According to Elections Saskatoon, you can register to vote in the civic election if you meet the following criteria on election day, Nov 13, 2024:
- You are a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age.
- You have resided in the province for at least six consecutive months.
- You are a resident of Saskatoon or have owned assessable land within Saskatoon for at least three consecutive months before the election date.
There are currently 194,244 registered voters.
Voter’s list
Elections Saskatoon will use a Voters list for the first time in 36 years.
City council approved Saskatoon’s modernization strategy in May 2023. The voter list is an information-sharing agreement with Elections Saskatchewan, which will provide data for the voter registry.
Shellie Bryant, a returning officer for the 2024 civic election, said the voter’s list will improve the experience at the polls, and registration will be faster without paper forms.
How do I know what ward I’m in?
According to the city, the following Ward changes will take place for the 2024 civic election.
- Ward 3 Confederation Urban Centre switches to Ward 2
- Ward 7 Nutana Park joins Ward 9
To find which of the 10 wards you will be voting in, there is a search function on the Elections Saskatoon website.

How can I vote?
- Mail-in ballot kit applications closed on October 15.
- Stay in your car and vote on Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the City Hall’s parking lot off 4th Avenue.
- Advance polls are from Nov. 1 to 4, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. People can vote at any of the 10 locations.
- Residents can find their polling station by entering their address in a search function on the Elections Saskatoon website.
