Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
The storm was 10 kms southwest of Carnduff, moving southeast at 55 km/h at 5:30 p.m.
The alert was issued after severe thunderstorm watches covered the entire southwestern corner of the province on Tuesday afternoon, meaning conditions are favourable for the development of severe storms. The area under the watches includes Moose Jaw, Weyburn and Estevan.

Meanwhile, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the Regina area, meaning the storm is imminent or already occurring.
“Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and heavy rain,” the weather service said in a statement.
