A 24-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly driving a stolen van through a Saskatoon park while being chased by police.
According to police, officers got a report just before 11 a.m. saying a van had been stolen from a home on Avenue P South. Officers soon spotted the vehicle on 15th Street West near Weldon Avenue, but the driver allegedly took off.

“The driver proceeded through multiple intersections at high rates of speed,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“The van continued into a park in the 1600 block of Avenue P South. Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device and the van was stopped in the 1500 block of 16th Street West.”
The driver, a 24-year-old woman, is now facing charges of dangerous driving, theft under $5,000 and evading police.
