Roughriders fined for going over 2024 CFL salary cap by $40k

The Riders are one of four teams to receive fines for exceeding the cap.
A seven-year-old boy was among five people who were attacked by someone on Monday and Tuesday with bear spray during a 24-hour period in Saskatoon.
The five incidents took place in different parts of the city all at various times during the day and night.
Monday July 22:
10:00 a.m.
The first one happened on Monday morning just before 10 a.m. when a 24-year-old woman was suffering from the effects of bear spray. The victim was uncooperative and didn’t provide further information.
3:50 p.m.
According to Saskatoon Police, the incident involving the seven-year-old happened on Avenue O South near St. Paul’s Hospital around 3:50p.m. on July 22. Police were called to the scene after the incident happened. Police did not provide an update on the alleged suspect.
6:40 p.m.
Police were called to a bear spray incident on the 400 block of Confederation Drive. Suspects fled the scene and the victim was transported home by officers.
Approx. 6:40 p.m.
Another bear spray incident was called into police in the 100 block of 33rd Street West. The victim did not want to press charges at this time.
Tuesday July 23:
1:50 a.m.
In the 100 block of Nelson Road officers were unable to locate the suspect of another bear spray incident. Paramedics treated the victim who did not want to press charges.
Police don’t believe any of the incidents are related to each other.
