Police are searching for a teen boy who didn’t resurface after his canoe tipped in Helene Lake on Wednesday.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers at the Turtleford/Glaslyn detachment received a report of a missing canoeist on the lake north of North Battleford on Wednesday evening.
Since the report came in, RCMP officers have been searching for the boy with help from an aerial drone and the RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team.
“Local fire and emergency medical services are also on scene assisting,” the Mounties added.
People in the area can expect to see a large police presence as the search effort continues.
“If you are in the area and have information, or notice anything that seems out of place in or around the lake, please contact Turtleford/Glaslyn RCMP by dialing 310-RCMP,” the RCMP requested.
