Saskatoon families packed the Nutrien Wonderhub yesterday as it celebrated its 5th birthday.
The birthday bash for the Wonderhub was a free event hosted on Friday to commemorate the hub opening its doors on Spadina Crescent back in 2019.
Leah Brodie, Chief Executive Officer at the Wonderhub, sat down with 650 CKOM to share all the fun things the hub set up for the day.
“We have glitter tattoos, a balloon artist, we have princesses here, there are lots of crafts and activities in (the) create space,” she said.
“We have dance parties in (the) performance hall and of course, there are just all of the great and amazing exhibits that we always have available.”
The Wonderhub is a non-for-profit organization that fosters creativity, curiosity and a love of learning for children and their grown-ups.
It offers hands-on exhibits, programming and outreach.
The hub’s mission is to bring children and families together to create, learn, play and explore without limitations.

Brodie expressed that the Wonderhub is the perfect place to take the kids no matter the season.
“On a hot day we’re a great place to be,” she said. “On a cold day and snowy day we’re a great place to be and on a rainy day we are also a great place to be.”
She highlights the importance of the space for children to learn.
“We’re Saskatchewan’s only children’s museum and I think we provide a great place in Saskatoon for this community to take their kids,” she said.
Brodie shared that the summer season is busy as the hub hosts camps all summer long.
“Of course with Nutrien PlayLand across the street, we really become this hub of energy and activity and we are a really good place for families in the summer,” she said.
