A collision involving an electric scooter turned fatal Saturday morning.
Saskatoon Police Major Crimes Section (MCS), the Collision Analyst Unit (CAU), the Forensic Identification Section (FIS) and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating the death of the 25-year-old driver of the scooter.
According to a news release, police were called around 3:12 a.m. to reports of a dead man located on Warman Road near Circle Drive.
Officered learned a car was heading northbound on Warman Road when it struck the man riding an electric scooter.
The 38-year-old male driver of the car was arrested. He is facing charges related to fleeing from the scene, operating a vehicle while impaired and operating a vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg of alcohol causing death.
The 38-year-old driver will see a Justice of the Peace later today.
SPS Major Crimes Section as well as the Collision Analyst Unit and Forensic Identification Section are continuing to investigate.
