SaskPower is making it cheaper for consumers in Saskatchewan to pick up energy-efficient bulbs, fixtures, thermostats and more.
The Crown power corporation’s Energy Efficient Discounts Program is back in 2023, after a successful launch last year.
“The Energy Efficiency Discounts Program offers instant in-store savings on the purchase of select energy-efficient products in more than 70 retail locations in Saskatchewan,” SaskPower explained in a statement.
In addition to bulbs, light fixtures and smart thermostats, the program also offers savings on lighting controls and ventilation fans. A total of 61,000 of the products were sold in the province during the promotion in 2023.

The program – which is partially funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada – runs until July 2, or as long as supplies last.
Rhea Brown, SaskPower’s executive vice-president of customer experience and procurement, said the goal is to make it more affordable for those who want to switch to power-saving products.
“We understand that affordability is a top concern for our customers, and SaskPower is committed to helping them reduce their power use and lower their power bills,” Brown said in a statement.
“SaskPower is working hard to decarbonize our grid, and energy efficiency is an important part of achieving a net-zero power system.”
