For the second time in as many days, workers will be scrubbing spray paint off the cenotaph in Regina’s Victoria Park.
Graffiti on the war memorial was found on Wednesday morning. Someone scrawled a vulgar phrase just above the base of the monument, and also vandalized the steps leading up to the cenotaph.
That graffiti was quickly cleaned off, but more paint was found on the memorial Thursday morning.
Unfortunately, the Cenotaph has been vandalized two days in a row.
City crews have already cleaned off the graffiti from yesterday, but will be busy again today. @CJMENews @CKOMNews pic.twitter.com/XVwUDTpyLC

Chad Wagner, the provincial executive director of the Royal Canadian Legion, said he was “completely disgusted” by the vandalism, and said public education is the solution.
“This is just a blatant disregard for not only humanity but common sense,” Wagner told 980 CJME on Wednesday after the first case of vandalism was discovered.
“We need to make people understand what remembrance means and to understand the sacrifices made by veterans for our freedom. Instances like this are just a blatant disregard for all that.”
The memorial was previously a target for vandals in 2019, when it was spray-painted and a plaque was stolen.
