Two people were rescued from a duplex fire in Regina’s North Central neighbourhood early Thursday morning.
According to Regina Fire & Protective Services, firefighters were called to a duplex on Angus Street at 3:50 a.m. Heavy smoke and fire were visible when they arrived.

The acting Assistant Chief tells me two people were trapped inside but escaped when firefighters knocked down the door.

A firefighter told 980 CJME two people were trapped inside the building, but firefighters knocked down the door, allowing them to escape without injury.
The fire was quickly brought under control, the fire department said.
No injuries were reported, and the structure was searched to ensure everyone made it out safely.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
