Nobody was hurt in a weekend house fire on Diefenbaker Drive, but the blaze caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, firefighters were called to the home just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Three fire engines, a ladder truck, a rescue unit and the battalion chief were all dispatched to the two-level home.

Firefighters quickly entered the home to battle the flames from inside, while utilities were shut down for safety. Just after 8 p.m., firefighters outside the home began attacking the flames in the basement as well.
The fire was brought under control at 8:47 p.m., the department noted, and a fire investigator was called to the scene.
On Monday, the fire department said the cause of the fire remains undetermined, but damage was estimated at $200,000.
