Saskatchewan’s best curlers will gather in Saskatoon on Wednesday to determine who will represent the province at the 2024 Brier in Regina next month.
The SaskTel Tankard will take place at the Nutana Curling Club this year, and over the next five days, 12 teams will compete for the provincial championship.
Eight of the 12 rinks competing at the Tankard will be on home ice, as they curl out of the Nutana Curling Club. Those teams are skipped by Daymond Bernath, Michael Carss, Kody Hartung, Jason Jacobson, Dustin Kalthoff, Rylan Kleiter, Steve Laycock and Mike McEwen.
Curling out of the Highland Curling Club in Regina are rinks skipped by Kelly Knapp and Garret Springer. A third Regina rink, skipped by Joshua Bryden, is joining the field out of the Callie Curling Club.

Of the dozen teams competing, McEwen’s rink is ranked the highest in the country at No. 6, while Kleiter’s rink is ranked ninth.
The tournament begins at 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon with three games on the ice. Pool play will then run until Friday night.
The best teams in each pool will then advance to the playoff round on Saturday, and the final will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
