A third man is facing a criminal charge in connection with a 2006 homicide case in Saskatoon.
On July 8, 2006, Darren Frederick Greschuk called 911 after he was shot in his own home.
“He reported that he and his wife had been sleeping in their home on Avenue J South, when a man with a gun entered their home and demanded money,” police explained in a statement. “His wife managed to escape and hide until police arrived.”
After the shooting, Greschuk was taken to hospital, where he died on July 23, 2006.

Last October, police said two men were arrested and charged in connection with Greschuk’s death. A 48-year-old British Columbia man was arrested in Penticton, B.C., with help from the local RCMP, and was returned to Saskatchewan to face a charge of second-degree murder.
A 45-year-old Saskatoon man was also arrested and charged with manslaughter.
On Monday, police said a 49-year-old man was arrested in Lethbridge, Alta. last Wednesday. He’s since been transferred to Saskatoon, where he faces a charge of accessory after the fact to murder in connection with Greschuk’s killing.
“No further arrests are expected in relation to this homicide investigation,” the police service said in a statement.
