After an impaired driver allegedly took off from the scene of a crash, Saskatoon police officers in the air managed to track him down.
According to police, officers were called to the area of Idylwyld Drive South and Taylor Street East at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday after getting reports of a single-vehicle collision.
“As officers were responding, witnesses reported seeing a person flee from the damaged vehicle on foot,” police said in a statement.
“Members of the Air Support Unit quickly located the fleeing driver and directed officers on the ground to their location.”

Police said the 30-year-old driver from Lloydminster was showing signs of impairment and was also suffering injuries.
He was taken to hospital for treatment, but police said he refused to provide a blood sample for testing. As a result, he was charged with impaired driving and refusing to comply with a demand.
