A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of a 36-year-old man in Saskatoon.
Police say officers responded at around 4:20 p.m. Saturday to a call about an injured person in a business parking lot in the 1600 block of 20th Street West. When the officers arrived, they found a man who had died after sustaining what police called “a serious injury.”
A media release from police didn’t provide details about the nature of the man’s injury.
“Responding patrol members were quickly able to determine the suspect’s description,” police said. “The suspect was located nearby a short time later, and was taken into custody without further incident.”
The 23-year-old suspect was charged with second-degree murder, along with two counts of breach of probation and one of breach of an undertaking. He’s to appear before a Justice of the Peace on Sunday.
Members of the Saskatoon Police Service’s Major Crime and Forensic Identification sections are investigating the murder.
