Police and paramedics were still at the scene just before 5 p.m., and it appeared the transit bus ended up on the front lawn of a home after the crash.
Saskatoon Transit issued a statement after the crash, saying there’s no word about charges against the transit driver, who was taken to hospital “with a shoulder injury.”
“The Transit bus was transporting passengers and a relief bus was dispatched to pick up these riders,” the statement read.
“As is the practice anytime a Transit bus is involved in a traffic incident, there will be an internal investigation conducted by Saskatoon Transit.”
According to the police, no other injuries were reported after the crash.
“A ticket has been issued to the school bus driver for proceeding from a stop sign before safe,” a police spokesperson said in an emailed statement to 650 CKOM.
